I’d like to ask you something. Are they meaning the some thing between “ripple effect” and “aftermath” because lately I saw “aftermath” on a autobiography.

“ripple effect” and “aftermath” do not have the same meaning, no. ‘Aftermath’ is the consequence of something, or what happens after a major event. ‘Ripple effect’ is like what happens if you throw a small rock into water, the rings that move outwards are “ripples.” One small ripple turns into a bigger one, then bigger, etc.. So in life, this is used to talk about 1 small action turning into something bigger, then bigger, etc…

Today is the mothers’ day in Brazil, then when I gave the gift to my mother the ripple effect was her happiness.

How great Michel! Remember, the ‘ripple effect’ is what happens if you throw a small rock into water, the rings that move outwards are “ripples.” One small ripple turns into a bigger one, then bigger, etc.. So in life, this is used to talk about 1 small action turning into something bigger, then bigger, etc… So what happened after you gave your mother the gift?
